I, PIRET ROHUSAAR, was born in Tallinn on November 7, 1961.
In 1982, I started studying at the Estonian State Art Institute, graduating in 1988 as a painter-teacher.
Our school days were very simple compared to today. We did not have to divide ourselves between several activities and specialties. Everything was in place: in the mornings we drew, after lunch we painted.
Our course was lucky with painting teachers such as Tiit Pääsuke, Enn Põldroos and Ando Keskküla, whom I especially appreciate. Drawing was taught by Aleksander Suuman, Alex Kütt and many other very good artists.
After graduating from the institute, I became a member of the Estonian Painters' Association (EPA) and worked as a freelance painter. I have been a member of the Estonian Artists' Association (EAA) since 1995.

From 1985 to 1996 I participated in most of the overview exhibitions of the EPA and the EAA during that period. During this period, my first solo exhibitions took place. Among my earlier paintings, I consider paintings of my family to be very important.

From 1996 to 2003 I worked as a product designer in my family business and later as an advertising designer in an advertising agency.

Since 2003, I have been a freelance painter again. From then until today, I have participated in almost all of EPA's annual overview exhibitions and more than twenty curatorial exhibitions all over Estonia.

In 2007, there came a period when I painted Estonian jazz musicians... trying to feel jazz music, listeners... and, of course, the fluidity of the music itself. From that time, there are many portrait-like paintings of musicians. With this collection, I have organized dozens of solo exhibitions in different places in Estonia and in 2010, in France, in the gallery of the Colomars City Government.

Between 2008 and 2011, he managed to paint four times in the south of France, in Colomars, the so-called. Plenary Paintings. A larger overview exhibition of the paintings completed there was made in Tallinn, at the Vabaduse Gallery in 2012.
In 2011, I participated in the international nude exhibition "Man, Woman & Electricity" at the Pärnu Museum of New Art.
In the fall of 2023, I went on a month-long painting trip to Greece, to the island of Samos. The exhibition of the paintings completed there was at the Metropol Gallery in Tallinn the following year.

In total, I have had more than forty solo exhibitions to date.

In the last fifteen years, ceramic jugs have appeared in my exhibitions in addition to paintings.
I've used a potter's wheel to turn, build, and model large clay jugs. In my soul, there has only been a desire to design picturesque, glazed clay surfaces, where the glazes have room to flow and thus create new picturesque surfaces.
